Biography

I have worked with mental health for the past eighteen years. I possess a wide range of experience in collaborative working and have provided highly specialised, specifically tailored, one to one and group support, addressing such issues as anxiety and stressful situations.

I have helped individuals develop strategies, addressing issues associated with separation, transition, loss, and trauma. I possess in-depth knowledge and experience of mental health conditions such as mood disorders and borderline states, when one is not sure of one's existence, survival, identity. And worked with learning difficulties such as autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder within education. I also recognise when there is a need to refer onto other services.

I hold a Joint Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy/Media Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychoanalytical Observational Studies (The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.

I reflect on my skills and learning needs and address the gaps with supervision and appropriate CPD activity. I recently attended a workshop in therapeutic communication with Adolescents at the Northern school.
